Course objective:
Students will be familiarised with basic numerical methods used in continuum mechanics, with emphasis on the numerical fluid dynamics and numerical heat and mass transfer.

Course description:
Overview of numerical methods. Mesh types and mesh generation techniques. Conservation laws of fluid motions and the numerical solution procedure. The Finite Volume Method. Differencing schemes and their properties. Linear equation solver technology. Turbulence modeling.
