At the end of 2015, mankind has courageously and ambitiously stepped towards the energy of the 21st century, adopting by consensus the text of Paris agreement on preventing climate change and keeping the increase in global average temperature below 2 °C compared to the average temperature of pre-industrial period. The 7th EPMES Conference hosted a very rich discussion in the field of energy planning for energy transition. Various energy planning models, energy market influence, grid development, policy instruments and technology integration ideas and strategies in the context of the SEE energy transition towards the low-carbon energy system have been elaborated and discussed.
